Todd and Lindsie Chrisley have both been in the news a lot lately, but what exactly is going on?
In mid-August, Todd Chrisley and his wife were indicted on multiple federal charges. These included bank fraud, wire fraud, and tax evasion. Although they turned themselves in, they pled not guilty and have since maintained that they have done nothing wrong. Now, Todd Chrisley finds himself in another legal battle and this time, it is with his daughter, Lindsie Chrisley. Lindsie has attempted to bring charges against Todd and her brother, Chase, stating the two have attempted to extort her.
Lindsie Chrisley’s Case
Lindsie Chrisley has been estranged from her family for some time. Approximately one month before her parents were charged with multiple federal charges, she filed a report with Georgia police stating that her father and brother, Todd and Chase respectively, were attempting to extort her.
In her police report, Lindsie stated that Chase had purchased a sex tape of her. Once they had it, both Todd and Chase threatened to make it public if she told the truth about a certain incident. They wanted her to lie for them. A source close to the family says that the incident in question was related to the tax evasion charges her parents are facing.
Other sources have stated that Lindsie’s father suspected his daughter of being involved in the federal investigation against him. That is untrue, and Lindsie continues to maintain she has never leaked any information or had any involvement with her parents’ indictment.
Chance for Reconciliation
Since his daughter pressed charges against him, Todd Chrisley has stated that he is disappointed, but that she will always be his daughter and he will always love her. Lindsie on the other hand, has stated that she would love to reunite with her family. There are obstacles to that reunion, though.
The first is that her father has made many allegations against her. One of these was the fact that Todd accused Lindsie of being unfaithful with Robby Hayes and Josh Murray, two stars from The Bachelorette. Lindsie felt humiliated and degraded after those comments.
Lindsie also has no interest in returning to the television show, Chrisley Knows Best. She has stated, definitively, that if there is a reunion, it will be off-camera. Already, it has been months since Lindsie has spoken with her dad.
The charges against her dad have been dropped in Georgia due to the fact that the extortion happened in Tennessee. It is unknown yet whether Lindsie will refile within that state.
